Southern Division Area BAll walleye shorter than 35 cm must be released south of highway 5 from the Saskatchewan border east to Ste. Rose du Lac, including all waterbodies west of highway 5 south to Neepawa, including all waterbodies south of highway 16 east to Gladstone and including all waterbodies west of highway 34 south to the US border; Excluding, the Assiniboine River, Lake of the Prairies, Dauphin Lake tributaries, and Lake Wahtopanah and Little Saskatchewan River upstream to Riding Mountain National Park, including Rapid City Reservoir and Minnedosa Lake.
Lake-specific regulations
  • Stocked trout water: Trout limit is two. No motors, except electric motors, may be used on this water. This water is open to fishing all year, with the following exceptions. All Lake trout caught must be released from September 15 to and including October 31. No fishing for walleye during the walleye closed season from April 6, 2026 to and including May 8, 2026. No bow fishing, dip netting, or seining is allowed on stocked trout waters. In Duck Mountain Provincial Park, and in Porcupine Provincial Forest, all trout smaller than 35 cm must be released, except those caught in streams.
