Lodges/Fly-in
Fly-in fishing in NW Ontario
A floatplane is the only road to the best of the Canadian Shield: we track 13 fly-in lodges and outpost operations in Sunset Country, including 5 outpost networks running cabins across multiple lakes. Fly-in water sees a handful of boats a season instead of a launch-ramp parade — that's the entire pitch.
Two flavours to know: American-plan lodges fly you to a full-service main camp with meals, boats and guides; outpost camps drop your group alone on a lake with cabins, boats and a radio — you cook, you explore, you have the lake to yourselves until the plane comes back. Housekeeping fly-ins sit in between. Prefer to keep the truck? Browse all lodges & outfitters including drive-to camps.
