Smith Camps is a family-run camp on a bay at Lake of the Woods' northeastern corner, roughly 8 miles east of Kenora, Ontario, on land the Smith family bought in 1970. Lodging is eight self-catered housekeeping cabins with full kitchens and bathrooms - three with three bedrooms and five with two bedrooms, one of which is a wheelchair-accessible deluxe unit with two bathrooms - rented Saturday to Saturday with linens, ice, fish cleaning and dock space for one boat included. Guided fishing is billed separately by the hour or day for walleye, smallmouth bass, muskie, northern pike, perch, crappie and lake trout, and the operation also runs the Resolute Island Outpost 31 miles southwest of base camp. Other on-site facilities include a gas, bait and tackle marina, a boat launch, and a lodge with WiFi; the on-site restaurant no longer operates.
