Pleasure Point Cottages rents nine self-contained housekeeping cottages on a four-acre point with about 1,100 feet of frontage on Trout Lake near Barry's Bay, Ontario, on a chain of four connected lakes. Cottages 1 through 7 are lakefront and 8 and 9 are lake-view; each has a 3- or 4-piece bathroom, kitchen appliances, satellite TV, propane BBQ and fire pit, and guests supply their own bedding and towels. There is an on-site boat launch and docking with free canoes, kayaks and pedal boats, but no boat rentals; Algonquin Park is about a 30-minute drive west.

Booi's Fly-in Lodge is an island lodge on Trout Lake, about 20 minutes by floatplane north of Red Lake, Ontario, reachable only by air. Guests fish walleye, northern pike and lake trout from 18-foot boats with 25 hp outboards, and stay in log-and-pine chalet cottages of two to six bedrooms with full kitchens. The base plan is light housekeeping with cottage attendant service; meals are ordered a la carte in the main lodge, and the package includes complimentary guided shore lunches three mornings a week and a steak night.
