Family-run since 1975, this lodge occupies a 10-acre island at the north end of Wabatongushi Lake, a 10,000-acre lake inside the Chapleau Game Preserve, and is reached by float plane from Hawk Junction near Wawa. Guests fish for walleye, northern pike and perch, and choose among housekeeping cabins, housekeeping-with-dinners, and full American Plan stays in cabins or two-person suites next to the log main lodge. Every package includes an 18-foot cedar boat with a 20 hp electric-start outboard and depth finder per two adults, gas, canoes and kayaks, and guided nature tours; the surrounding preserve is used for moose, black bear and bird viewing.
