Frontier Lodge (Norway Outpost Inc.) rents 2- and 3-bedroom housekeeping cottages at the end of Highway 546 on the east end of Mount and McElrea Lakes, northeast of Elliot Lake, Ontario. It operates year-round for fishing, black bear hunting on roughly 122 sq mi of licensed Crown land, grouse/rabbit hunting, snowmobiling and ice fishing, and runs a satellite outpost on Rawhide Lake with five housekeeping units plus a log house, reached by float plane from Mount or McElrea Lake or by portage, where lake trout and smallmouth bass are the target species. On-site facilities include a screened fish cleaning building, fish freezing, bait and tackle, a snack bar, licence sales, and boat/motor rentals; several cottages are wheelchair accessible and no pets are allowed.
