Garden Island Lodge occupies a private island on Lady Evelyn Lake in northeastern Ontario, roughly 90 miles north of North Bay, and is reached by lodge boat from Mowatt Landing or by float plane. It offers nine cabins with three-piece baths, propane heat and 24-hour power on an all-inclusive American Plan (three meals daily, boat with gas and live bait, dock service, ferry and parking) plus one newer housekeeping cabin, the Sunset View, for guests who cook their own meals. The target species are walleye, smallmouth bass and northern pike on a 36-mile-long lake with about 675 miles of shoreline, and the lake's lodges have adopted catch-photograph-release practices.
