Mountainview Lodge is a drive-to lodge on the Goulais River at Searchmont, about 30 minutes from Sault Ste. Marie, with six lodge rooms, a converted Algoma Central Railway caboose, a one-bedroom chalet, and a campground. Guided fishing targets walleye, pike, smallmouth bass, speckled and lake trout, plus steelhead and pink and chinook salmon runs on the Garden River and musky in Goulais Bay. Black bear hunts are outfitted through Northland Bear Outfitters (Ontario outfitter number 41467) in bear management area SS-36-03, offered as a base package or as American plan packages that include lodging and meals.
