Family-run set of water-access housekeeping outpost cottages spread along the shores of Dog Lake at Missanabie, Ontario, sited on islands, sandy beaches and peninsulas for privacy. Guests park at a base site on the peninsula in town and reach their cottage by boat in under 30 minutes; cottages are off-grid, so the operator advises bringing potable water. Two- and three-bedroom cottages are fully equipped, with a centralized shower house, lake map with marked spots, and fish-freezing service included; boats ($195/week) and motors ($245/week) rent separately. Dog Lake covers over 13,000 acres with 120 miles of shoreline and holds walleye, lake trout, northern pike, jumbo yellow perch, smallmouth bass, whitefish and burbot.
