On Abram Lake
Family-run Sioux Lookout operator, in business since 1970, combining an island main base with a set of remote outpost cabins. Guests fishing from the main base reach Abram, Pelican, Minnitaki and Botsford lakes, with Lac Seul a short trailer ride away, targeting walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass, lake trout and muskie; cabins are housekeeping with full kitchens, and boats, motors and guides are rented separately. Outpost cabins on Vaughan, Lake St. Joseph, Raggedwood, Root, Highstone, Carling and Minnitaki lakes are reached by float plane (Slate Falls Airways) or by the operator's 26-foot barge and transport boats. Guided 7-day moose hunts run from the main camp, a boat-in outpost and a fly-in outpost, plus 6-day bear and January-February wolf hunts, which include meals and accommodation.
