Birch Bark Lodge sits on Wigwascence Lake in northwestern Ontario, well north of Pickle Lake, and guests reach it only by floatplane. The property is small: two cabins sleeping four and eight, plus a main lodge, on a lake of about 7.5 miles within the Pinemuta River system. Week-long walleye and northern pike trips are sold either self-catered or with three meals a day prepared for guests, and live bait is prohibited. The operator also books seven-day fly-in moose hunts in Wildlife Management Unit 1C, guided or unguided, hunted mainly from boats along shorelines and river mouths. Operator page →
